Global cross-border payments network TransferTo has struck a strategic deal with the European mobile wallet provider Cellum which will see them deliver international money transfer services to all partners involved courtesy of TransferTo’s connections to more than 1,500 companies across the world.
TransferTo’s platform enables real-time international money transfers and mobile airtime top-ups to and from emerging markets by interlinking financial institutions and digital service providers worldwide. It currently has a presence in over 135 countries, with millions of people tapping its comprehensive nexus of money transfer businesses, e-commerce enterprises, mobile wallet providers, financial institutions, banks and non-governmental organisations.
For its part, Cellum provides white-label mobile wallet solutions to banks, large merchants and mobile network operators. It launched its first mobile wallet in 2014 in Asia.
The new collaboration with TransferTo will enable it to utilise the international payments specialists’ well-established network to deliver improved services to its business partners, including cross-border payments solutions and mobile airtime top-up. In turn, Cellum’s business partners will be equipped to deliver improved and more extensive services to meet the needs of their end users more comprehensively, improving value for all concerned.
Between them, the two operators are seeking to expand emerging digital money transfer technologies in Southeast Asia and Central Eastern Europe, two markets with extraordinarily vigorous growth rates.
Commenting on the new partnership, TransferTo’s CEO Peter De Caluwe said: “We are happy to collaborate with Cellum and open the doors for their partners to reach our global network, and look forward to the opportunity of expansion by adding further digital wallet providers.”
Speaking for Cellum, CEO János Kóka emphasised that his firm had continually sought ways of expanding its portfolio by delivering meaningful services that delivered even greater value to its partners.
He added: “Our strategic partnership with TransferTo strengthens our position as the one-stop mobile wallet provider of choice in Southeast Asia and beyond.”
